Repairs and remakes

Yes, we do all jewellery repairs, remakes, stone replacements, retipping and replating. Also all watch batteries (including Breitling and Tag Heuer watches) watch servicing on mechanical and automatic watches and other watch repairs.

Guarantee / Warranty

All items sold by Rawson Brothers are covered by a Warranty period, This Varies depending on the item (Displayed on product page) This Warranty covers Materials and Workmanship of the Jewellery Purchased. In the unlikely event that there is a problem with your item even if is outside of the warranty period please call us on 04 260 2197 or use the contact us form and we can sort it out. All engagement rings come with a 5 Year Warranty.

Conditions and Exclusions for all items

Maintenance, repair, sizing or other service performed by someone other than Rawson Brothers or an approved agent will void the warranty.

Fine jewellery is not impervious to normal wear, activities or trauma. This is particularly true for rings since hands are regularly subjected to considerable abuse. We do not provide warranties for damage due to normal wear, product loss, loss of stones or theft. Damage or loss that results from failure to obtain repairs necessary to maintain the integrity of the product are also not covered.

Some examples of common jewellery issues that would not be considered manufacturing defects include:

  1. Discoloration due to exposure to chemicals, make-up, swimming pools, hot tubs or bathing.

  2. Prongs and precious metals, in general, wear over time and may require “building up” or restoration work as normal wear can thin down claws.

  3. Bent, caught or worn out prongs(s) allowing a stone to fall out or be lost due to normal wear or other damage.

  4. Lost stone or a stone has fallen out due to chipping or breaking caused by normal wear, accidental or other damage.

  5. Accidental damage.

Cleaning and Inspection Service

We offer a free cleaning and inspection service on all items that we sell, just come into the store, we will inspect and give your item a quick polish, and use our ultrasonic and steam cleaners. We recommend doing this once a year but feel free to come in whenever you like, its free whenever you like.

A fair question to ask, David the owner of Rawson Brothers has built a solid name for himself within the trade both in New Zealand and the United Kingdom, trust is an essential part of a goldsmiths work. David is a member and staunch advocate of the Goldsmiths Guild of New Zealand and was on the committee up until he left for the UK, He also remains on the Jewellery Industry Registration Board of New Zealand list of qualified Jewellers

Returns

Returns may be considered depending on the item, Please give us a call or use the contact us function, a credit may be issued to use on other items available. Bespoke or custom made items are not returnable unfortunately.

Made to Order

As we are a small business there may be some items nearly ready to ship, all silver items are available, But we do have some items that are made to order such as diamond pendants and earring. This is indicated on the product page these items usually take 1-2 weeks to finish, we will keep you up to date through out the process.

Packaging

ALL items over $500 will come in one of our nice wooden boxes, all items $100-500 come in a jewellery box, all items below $100 come in a Rawson Brothers black pouch.

Shipping

All items over $100 are tracked packed. All items under $100 will be posted to you to keep prices as low as possible. Any items sent overseas (from New Zealand) may incur duties and/or Customs fees to enter your country, this is up to the customer to pay. Most orders are usually dispatched the day they are completed. We usually make the jewellery to order please see above for more details.
